Alpine Lace Mantilla

Finally finished, after nearly a year!

I used the Alpine Lace pattern to make a rectangular shawl but then shortened it slightly to use as a mantilla.  As you may recall I made a long white one for my mother a few years ago.  This time I used black and I made abut 18 center repeats and should have stopped about about 14. It is very long when blocked.   Oh well, it makes a very elegant mantilla!

I used lace weight 100% wool but cant find the brand just now.  I missed the presence of silk as I knitted it but now that it is blocked it looks very shiny and pretty so I don’t miss the silk anymore.  Holds shape well.
