Out With the Old
I got a new rice cooker today. It’ll steam foods too. So I’m throwing out my old one. The new one, by Black & Decker, is the HS1000 and gets a lot of great reviews online, as does the smaller HS800. It’s so much lighter than the old one that I thought it was smaller. But they look about the same in my picture. The new one is taller and more oval, but not as wide as the old one. I can’t wait to try hard boiled eggs, steamed shrimp, and veggies in this!
I also finished the lap afghan I was making. I think I started in February! I used all old worsted weight acrylic yarn, except I had to buy one off white ball to finish this up. Ironically, it was made of recycled materials, so it was old too! I copycatted the pattern from someone in my book club. I think mine looks pretty close to the original. This one ended up, after washing and using the dryer, 44 x 45 inches. That was a surprise… dimensions changed a bit with washing.
Bailey is drawn to new projects like magnet. He just zooms right in.
The new owner.
And this is a picture of my brand new crucifix.
It is 14k gold covered and has a silver corpus. The chain I already had. This is really quite small, about an inch long. It just looks big in my closeup.
And a couple pictures of our growing Parkview Hospital on Dupont:
Another look, across the top of buildings already built. I love the big crane things.
