Just another pair of baby booties just like I’ve made before. I’m thinking they’ll fit a three month old.  I used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.

Awwww I have the cutest cat!  He was very patient with me today.  I did a lot of cleaning/organizing.

… was FUN!  I want to see it again, and catch the little things I missed the first time.  And enjoy it all over again.  In the meantime, I’ll enjoy diet coke in my new glasses.

I made another pair of slippers.  My usual pattern, with the rug backing on the bottom.  Very quick to make.  I used a ball of Marble by James Brett for the top, and some solid Ella Rae Amity for the soles and ties.

First kitty shot with the new camera.  I think they’ll like each other.

Canon PowerShot SX 200 IS

Yup, new camera.  I’ve been considering for months, and finally gave up and bought this one.  I really like it, with 12x optical zoom, 12 megapixels, small and easy to carry around.  It’s quite an improvement over the last one, but part of that is because these batteries work so much better than my old, tired, used up batteries.  I am very grateful for good batteries.  I even bought a spare.  I took some close up shots, and played around with the longer shots, but none of the longer shots were very interesting.  I’m obviously not very good yet.  Still, here are some of my first tries.

Knitted Baby Blanket

Filed under: knitting — Theca at 8:50 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2009

I finished it.  It was a lot of fun, but took six weeks, which is about three weeks longer than I would have liked.  The real problem was how much I worked at my actual job and how little time I had afterwards.  Also, I accidentally made the blanket longer by three pattern repeats, otherwise I could have been done much sooner.  It wasn’t hard, although I did have trouble with picking up live stitches for the second border.  I’ll need to work on my technique.  I used Knit Picks Swish Worsted, color Sunshine.  The pattern is CH41 Estonian Lullaby Baby Blanket.  I ordered nine balls, and used exactly eight, with less than six inches left over.  How’s that for close??
