Merry Christmas!

I finally got a day off… today… and got gastroenteritis!  But it’s resolving.  Must just be a 24 hour bug.

I made two hats last weekend.  It’s made with Chunky Marble by James Brett.  Pattern is Iris, from the book Artyfacts.

This hat is Tycho, from knitty.com.  I used chunky yarns, one was Blue Lagoon Mosaic Twist by Yarn Bee, which is acrylic with blues and greens.  The other color is Dynamite Blue, Lamb’s Pride Bulky.  This one finally seems sized almost correct.  I might have to make one for myself.

I also made several pairs of my favorite slipper pattern.  Unfortunately, none of the others got their picture taken.  They were all made with Marble yarn on top, and acrylic on the bottom.  But the brown pair had a brown wool/cotton blend on the bottom, Schulana Merino-Cotton.

Bailey!  That yarn isn’t for you.

The snow all melted today.  :(   But here are some pictures from right before Christmas.

Boleros

Filed under: knitting — Theca at 3:23 am on Thursday, December 11, 2008

I made two more boleros in November.

This one is the Fluffy Bolero by Erika Knight, made of two strands of lace mohair, Baby Kid Extra from Filatura di Crosa.  It’s from Simple Knits for Little Cherubs.  It’s supposed to be a two year old size, but I didn’t swatch it with these two strands of mohair so it came out bigger, as expected.  I don’t know WHAT size it is.  The sleeves are meant to be short, and there is no button, so it should fit a variety of sizes.

This one is the Children’s Neck Down Bolero from Knitting Pure & Simple.  This time I used washable Ella Rae Amity which is 25% wool and 75% acrylic.  Mom had the buttons in her button box.

Oh, and I made a couple more hand towels.  I used doubled Sugar and Cream yarn in white, with crocheted buttons.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  That’s glass behind the altar, so you can see into the chapel with all the windows, containing the tabernacle.
