Pure and Simple Bolero

This was fun and fast to make. Took about 5 days.  I just used Ella Rae Classic and it took approximately 2 balls for a size 4.

I also made Soaker #6, newborn size with Knitpick Amber Heather.

Here’s a second Geode hat.  I used 96 stitches and size 6 needles.  I think the sizing is about perfect now.

Geode

I found this great new yarn, Geode. It’s 50% wool and 50% acrylic, by berroco.  It’s yummy stuff, very soft and great color combos and it’s very even.  Kind of like Noro Kureyon, but without the twigs or all the changes in the yarn thickness.  It seems more dependable but I’ve only used one ball, so far.   I made a hat with about 100 yards.  Softer than Silk Garden, same pattern.  It’s not really as bright as the picture suggests. Will be making another hat soon.  I’d like to make a sweater out of this stuff, too.  Will think about it.  Hard.

My Fiber Trends wool clogs are done.  I used the size 8 directions, then felted it hard so as to make it a size 7.  I’m going to felt it one or two more times, I think, but the size is pretty good right now.  I love the softness and the warmth and the lovely thick, soft sole!!

I used Lamb’s Pride worsted, with brown heather and Chianti.  Definitely a keeper.  Here is the before picture, with the same foot.  The transformation was amazing.
