Here’s that Jayne hat I made in December, being modeled out in the elements. Cunnin!

I got two days off work this week secondary to winter storms. I made a trial hotpad and coaster, still drying. And cleaned the house a bit. I’m having a crochet party with potluck on Friday. I’m all ready except I need to buy chicken and crochet a few small samples of each stitch.

Winter Weather

We’re getting our storm of the year today… I even got the day off work! I’m on call overnight, though. We’ve been in blizzard conditions all day so I didn’t go outside for any pictures, but I found this nice fat icicle on my balcony.

This is snow and ice just inside the door. I did open the door for a few seconds about three hours ago but I don’t recall but a teeny bit of snow coming at my face. I suppose at foot level it could have been a different story.  Blizzard conditions.  I can feel cold air coming in all along the bottom so it’s not melting much at all and I can’t help but wonder if some of it blew through the crack in the door. But that does look like a foot print doesn’t it?

Bailey was amazed too.

Here are the mittens, scarf, and hat I made my parents this past year. They just took pictures for me! The details on the items are in the Finished Projects link above.

I have over four inches done on the silk project. Almost done with the first ball!  Very exciting.  Bailey just napped all evening.  He is still lying on the afghan right now.  I don’t think he likes these terribly cold winter days at all.

New Project

I just swatched my new project. It’s made with 100% silk yarn by Tilli Tomas, Pure and Simple. It’s a bit different to work with, and fuzzes up easily. However, it is gorgeous and when I block it, it has a pretty good memory.
